1. What is the Telecare Program?

Telecare is a service whereby a daily phone call is made to homebound individuals. It is intended for people who live by themselves in the Bozeman/Livingston area and would like contact with someone at least once a day.

2. Is the Telecare Program only for the elderly?

Absolutely NOT! It is for everyone, male or female, who might benefit and gain comfort from being called on the telephone once a day.

3. Is there a charge or a fee for the Telecare service?

No. There is never any charge. However, you may make an annual donation to the Help Center if you so desire.

4. What do I do to join?

You may print out an application from this website or contact Telecare by phone or mail at the Bozeman Help Center, 421 E. Peach St. Bozeman, MT. 59715, (406)586-3333. Or you may inquire through your local Senior Center, doctor, minister or public service person. You will be required to fill out forms and assistance can be provided for that. Your name will be put on the Telecare list immediately after this form is received.

5. What kind of questions are on the forms?

Our forms will ask for name, address, phone, church affiliation and doctor. In addition we will want to know a relative and neighbor’s address and phone in case we cannot reach you.

6. What will happen if I don’t answer my phone and you think something is wrong?

We will attempt to call you several times during the day. If we still do not get an answer, we may call your neighbor or relative to see if they know where you are. If no one is aware that you were going somewhere for the day, we may send one of our Telecare Staff over to your house to check on you. Only if we think there is an emergency will we send the police to check on your safety.
