"this service (crisis line) has been a lifeline over the years... it is important to deal with issues in the moment before things can change. You guys are always available in the moment."

What do we do?

You may wonder, why should I call a crisis line or tell a friend to? What happens? Will you call the cops? The quick answer is we will listen without judgment, first and always.
  • When someone calls, we listen and work to understand that person's unique situation. The conversation may involve safety planning, connecting to support systems like family or friends, connecting to community and mental health resources, and more.
  • We do not engage emergency responders unless absolutely necessary. In 2020, we only required dispatch of emergency services for 4% of our callers to ensure safety and provide immediate assistance. We work very hard to help that person stabilize and connect them to support networks and to longer-term support.
  • After someone calls us in a suicidal crisis, we follow-up with them for days and sometimes months to ensure their safety, connection to resources, and additional emotional support and crisis intervention.
  • If you are concerned about someone, please call us! That conversation can be scary and uncomfortable and we can walk you through how to approach the situation and how to get them connected to us for professional support.
  • If you just need someone to talk to and process something in your life, such as relationship issues, grief, life changes, or anything, we are here to listen!
  • We also offer community education around topics such as mental health, suicide prevention, bystander intervention and more. LEARN MORE>
  • We offer a FREE Suicide Loss Survivor Support group to anyone who has lost a loved one to suicide.
